Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 5, 2026

This policy explains what tevralo ("we," "us") collects when you use the service at tevralo.com, why, and what control you have over it. It applies to restaurant owners and their staff who create an account ("you").

Information you provide directly

  • Account information: name, email address, and a hashed password (we never store your password in plain text, and we cannot see it).
  • Restaurant/business profile: your restaurant's name, address, business type, and an optional free-text description of what your business does.
  • Menu and pricing data you personally enter — for your own restaurant and, when you choose to log it, for competitors you monitor.
  • Competitor selections and alert rules you configure.
  • Any text you paste into the AI menu-parsing tool (see "AI processing" below).

Information from third-party sources

When you add a competitor, we look up publicly available business information about it — name, address, category, aggregate star rating, review count, price tier, and open/closed status — from the Google Places API. We never scrape competitor websites or listing platforms, and we never fetch individual review text, only aggregate rating/count figures. See our Data Sources page for the full breakdown of what does and doesn't come from an automated source.

AI processing

We use Google's Gemini API to generate the market insights and report summaries shown on your dashboard, to help match you to relevant competitors during onboarding, and to structure menu text you paste into the bulk menu-entry tool. Only structured market data, your business description, or menu text you provide is sent for this purpose — never your account credentials, password, or billing information.

Cookies and sessions

We use a single essential session cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we don't sell data to ad networks or data brokers.

How we use your information

To operate the product: computing your dashboard and price comparisons, sending the alerts and weekly reports you've configured, processing subscription billing, and providing customer support. We do not sell your personal information.

Third parties we use

  • Stripe — payment processing. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Google (Places API) — competitor business identity, rating, review count, and status.
  • Google (Gemini API) — AI-generated market insights, report summaries, and menu-text parsing.
  • Resend — delivery of transactional email (password resets, alerts, weekly reports).
  • Neon — our PostgreSQL database host, where all of the above is stored.
  • Vercel — application hosting.

Each of these processes data only as needed to provide their part of the service to us, under their own privacy and security terms.

Data retention

We retain account and restaurant data for as long as your account is active. Menu price history and market event history are kept indefinitely while your account is active, since that history is the product — you can request deletion at any time (see below). If you cancel your subscription, your account and data remain accessible in a read-only trial state; contact us if you'd like it deleted instead.

Your rights and choices

You can update your restaurant profile and menu data directly from Settings at any time. For anything else — accessing a copy of your data, correcting it, or deleting your account — email us at support@tevralo.com and we'll handle it directly. If you're located somewhere with specific legal rights over your personal data (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), we'll honor requests made under those laws to the extent they apply — reach out and let us know what you're requesting.

Data security

Passwords are hashed, not stored in plain text. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by our database provider. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your information.

Children's privacy

tevralo is a business tool intended for restaurant owners and operators. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect information from, children under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you by email.
